Vela is a personal life-tracking app built to be private by design. Your data lives on your device, not on our servers. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what that means.
Vela is developed and published by Advay Dhasmana, an independent developer. For any privacy question, contact advaydhasmana26@gmail.com.
Everything you enter in Vela is stored locally on your device in an on-device database. This includes your goals and progress logs, to-dos, gym workouts and body measurements, sleep entries, journal entries, daily mood/skin/energy check-ins, and any settings or preferences. None of this is sent to us or to any third party. We have no ability to access it.
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Vela may read sleep data to save you from entering it manually. This happens only with your explicit permission, the data is used solely on your device to display your sleep history inside the app, and it is never transmitted off the device or used for any other purpose. You can revoke this access at any time in the iOS Settings → Health app. Vela does not write to Apple Health unless you ask it to.
If you enable reminders, Vela schedules local notifications on your device (for example, a daily check-in nudge). These are generated and delivered entirely on your device. We do not run a push server and we do not see whether or when a notification fires.
Vela is a one-time paid app. The purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, card number, or any payment details — Apple handles the transaction and shares only anonymized, aggregate sales information with us. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Vela lets you export your data (as JSON or CSV) through the standard iOS share sheet. When you do this, you decide where the file goes — for example to Files, iCloud Drive, or another app. That destination is your choice and is governed by that service's own privacy terms, not ours. If your device is backed up to iCloud or your computer, Vela's local database may be included in that backup, which is controlled by your own Apple/iCloud settings and encryption.
Because your data never leaves your device through Vela, it is protected by your device's own security — your passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and iOS's built-in encryption of app data at rest. We recommend keeping a device passcode enabled.
Vela is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone — including children — because it does not collect data at all.
Vela does not embed third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. The only third party involved in normal use is Apple, as your device's operating system and as the processor of your one-time purchase.
If Vela adds a feature that changes how data is handled (for example, an optional encrypted cloud backup), this policy will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
